A Star Is Born tells the story of Jackson Maine, a famous country music singer struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. His manager and older half-brother, Bobby, is his main support.
After a concert in California, Jackson visits a drag bar where he sees Ally, a waitress and singer-songwriter, perform. Impressed by her talent, they spend the night talking and Ally opens up about her struggles in the music industry.
Jackson invites Ally to join him on tour, and they begin a romantic relationship. During a visit to Jackson's childhood ranch in Arizona, they discover that Bobby sold the land where Jackson's father is buried. Enraged, Jackson punches Bobby and he quits as his manager, revealing that he did inform Jackson about the sale but he was too intoxicated to notice.
