After Hours is a 1985 American black comedy film directed by Martin Scorsese. The film follows a man named Paul Hackett who experiences a series of misadventures in New York City's SoHo district one night.
Paul is a word processor who meets a woman named Marcy at a coffee shop and decides to go to her apartment. However, things take a bizarre turn as Paul gets caught up in a series of strange and increasingly dangerous situations.
As the night goes on, Paul finds himself dealing with eccentric characters, including a waitress, a bartender, and a sculptor. He also encounters a group of thieves and a mobster, all of whom contribute to his night of chaos.
Throughout the film, Paul struggles to make sense of the events unfolding around him and desperately tries to find a way out of the madness that has consumed his night. After Hours is a darkly comedic exploration of urban alienation and the unpredictability of city life.
