Synopsis

Arbitrage is a drama directed by Nicholas Jarecki, focusing on a Wall Street hedge-fund tycoon named Robert Miller (Richard Gere) who is struggling to maintain a perfect image as his empire starts to crumble.

As Robert approaches his 60th birthday, he is a highly successful businessman living a life of luxury in New York City. However, his shady business dealings are about to be exposed, and he must finalize a bank purchase to avoid the consequences.

Robert's wife Ellen (Susan Sarandon) and daughter Brooke (Brit Marling) are unaware of the trouble he is in, but they will soon be affected by his actions. When his plan falls apart, Robert turns to Jimmy Grant (Nate Parker) for help, leading to unexpected complications.

As NYPD detective Michael Bryer (Tim Roth) uncovers evidence of Robert's wrongdoing, it becomes clear that he will have to face the consequences of his actions.
