Synopsis

"Astragal" is a novel written by Albertine Sarrazin. The story follows the life of Anne, a young woman who escapes from prison by breaking her ankle, or astragal, while jumping over a wall. She is rescued by a young man named Julien, who takes her in and helps her recover. As Anne tries to evade the police and start a new life, she falls in love with Julien and becomes involved in a world of crime and danger. The novel explores themes of love, freedom, and the consequences of one's actions.
