Synopsis

In the documentary Atari: Game Over, director Zak Penn explores the urban legend surrounding the burial of unsold copies of the video game E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial in a New Mexico landfill. The film follows the excavation of the landfill in search of the rumored buried cartridges, as well as the history of Atari and the impact of the E.T. game on the video game industry.
