Quiero ser como Beckham

Synopsis

A kaleidoscope of color and culture clash humorously as an Indian family in London tries to raise their soccer-playing daughter in a traditional way.

Unlike tarty elder sister Pinky, who is preparing for an Indian wedding and a lifetime of cooking the perfect chapatti, Jess' dream is to play soccer professionally like her hero David Beckham.

Wholeheartedly against Jess' unorthodox ambition, her parents eventually reveal that their reservations have more to do with protecting her than with holding her back.

When Jess is forced to make a choice between tradition and her beloved sport, her family must decide whether to let her chase her dream...and a soccer ball.

User reviews

Paul Smith
8/10

The soundtrack of Bend It Like Beckham not only complements the narrative but also stands on its own as a collection of eclectic and captivating tracks that can be enjoyed independently.

Timothy Roberts
6/10

The soundtrack of Bend It Like Beckham perfectly captures the vibrant and energetic essence of the film. The mix of traditional Indian music with modern beats creates a dynamic and engaging listening experience that mirrors the cultural clash depicted in the story.

Dorothy Lopez
4/10

The songs chosen for Bend It Like Beckham lack originality and fail to leave a lasting impact. There is a missed opportunity to explore innovative musical collaborations that could have enriched the narrative and brought a fresh perspective to the film's themes of cultural identity and family dynamics.

Matthew Martinez
8/10

The blend of traditional Indian music with contemporary beats mirrors the clash of cultures portrayed in the movie, adding a dynamic and engaging element to the overall viewing experience.

Melissa Brown
8/10

The music in the film enhances the emotional depth of the characters' struggles and triumphs, creating a powerful connection with the audience.

Richard Clark
1/10

The music in Bend It Like Beckham feels disconnected from the emotional journey of the characters. Instead of enhancing the storytelling and highlighting the conflicts between tradition and modern aspirations, the soundtrack comes across as an afterthought, failing to evoke the intended sentiments.

Joshua Wright
8/10

The soundtrack of Bend It Like Beckham perfectly captures the vibrant and diverse cultural backdrop of the film. Each song adds a layer of authenticity and richness to the story being told.

David Lewis
6/10

On the other hand, some tracks on the soundtrack feel a bit repetitive and generic, lacking the depth and emotional resonance needed to fully complement the film's narrative. While the overall sound is enjoyable, a few more standout pieces could have elevated the soundtrack to a higher level of quality and impact.

Donald Nelson
3/10

The soundtrack of Bend It Like Beckham fails to capture the vibrant and diverse cultural fusion depicted in the film. It lacks depth and authenticity in representing the Indian and British influences, resulting in a generic and uninspired musical experience.
