Synopsis

When Calls the Heart is a Canadian-American television drama series based on the book of the same name by Janette Oke. The show follows Elizabeth Thatcher, a young teacher from a wealthy Eastern family who moves to a small coal-mining town in the Western frontier to teach in a one-room schoolhouse.

As Elizabeth adjusts to her new life in Coal Valley, she faces challenges and obstacles but also finds love and friendship in unexpected places. She forms a special bond with Mountie Jack Thornton, who helps her navigate the trials and tribulations of life on the frontier.

When Calls the Heart explores themes of love, faith, community, and perseverance as Elizabeth and the residents of Coal Valley come together to overcome adversity and build a better future for themselves and their town.

2/10

The soundtrack of When Calls the Heart fails to capture the emotional depth and intensity of the show's storyline. The music feels generic and uninspired, lacking the power to enhance the on-screen drama and connect with the audience on a deeper level.

Melissa Baker
5/10

The soundtrack of When Calls the Heart beautifully captures the essence of the show's setting and themes. The music enhances the emotional moments and adds depth to the storytelling, creating a rich and immersive experience for the viewers.

Daniel Campbell
6/10

However, at times, the soundtrack can feel a bit repetitive and predictable. While it effectively sets the tone for the scenes, some tracks lack originality and fail to leave a lasting impression. It would be beneficial for the composers to experiment more with different musical styles and instruments to bring more diversity and freshness to the overall sound of the series.

Melissa White
1/10

The instrumental pieces in the soundtrack often feel repetitive and forgettable, failing to leave a lasting impact or evoke any strong emotions. The lack of variety in the musical themes makes the overall listening experience monotonous and unengaging, detracting from the viewing experience of the show.
