Synopsis

Kuchisake-onna is a Japanese urban legend about a woman who wears a surgical mask and asks people if they think she is beautiful. If they say no, she kills them with a pair of scissors. If they say yes, she removes her mask to reveal a mouth slit from ear to ear and asks again. If they say no, she kills them. If they say yes, she cuts their mouth to look like hers. The legend has been passed down for generations and has inspired movies, books, and even video games.

The compositions are haunting and memorable, leaving a lasting impact on the viewer even after the film has ended.

Susan Hernandez
6/10

The composer's skillful use of dissonant melodies and unnerving sounds contributes to the overall sense of dread and horror that permeates the film. The music is a crucial element in building and maintaining the suspense throughout the narrative.

Sarah Walker
8/10

The music enhances the suspense and tension in key moments of the film, creating a sense of unease and fear that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats.

Joseph Mitchell
7/10

The music of the film showcases the talent and creativity of the composer, who skillfully crafted a score that enhances the emotional depth and horror of the story, making it a standout feature of the movie.

Patricia Lewis
2/10

I found the use of traditional Japanese instruments in the score to be cliche and uninspired. Instead of enhancing the atmosphere and adding depth to the story, the music felt like a stereotypical representation of Japanese horror, lacking originality and failing to create a truly immersive experience.

Michelle Wright
6/10

The music in the film perfectly enhances the tension and suspense during key moments, adding an extra layer of fear and unease to the already chilling story of Kuchisake-onna. The sound design succeeds in immersing the audience in the world of the legend.
