Synopsis

In the modern day adaptation of the ancient Greek play "Lysistrata" by Aristophanes, Chi-Raq tells the story of a group of women who decide to withhold sex from their gang-affiliated partners in an effort to end the violence in their Chicago neighborhood.

Directed by Spike Lee, the film explores the themes of gun violence, race relations, and female empowerment as the women's movement gains momentum and challenges the men to put down their weapons and make peace.

With a star-studded cast including Nick Cannon, Teyonah Parris, Wesley Snipes, and Angela Bassett, Chi-Raq delivers a powerful message about the impact of violence on communities and the strength of unity in the face of adversity.
