Synopsis

"Chop Suey" is a story about a young woman named Mei who is struggling to find her place in the world. She is torn between her traditional Chinese upbringing and the modern American culture that surrounds her. Mei's parents want her to follow in their footsteps and become a doctor, but she dreams of pursuing a career in art. As Mei navigates the challenges of balancing her family's expectations with her own desires, she must also confront the racism and discrimination she faces as a Chinese-American woman.
