Cymbeline is a play by William Shakespeare that tells the story of King Cymbeline of Britain and his family. The play follows the king's daughter, Imogen, who secretly marries Posthumus, a low-born gentleman. When Cymbeline discovers the marriage, he banishes Posthumus and imprisons Imogen.
Meanwhile, the queen plots to have Imogen marry her own son, Cloten, in order to secure the throne for her family. Posthumus, believing Imogen to be unfaithful, makes a bet with an Italian named Iachimo, who claims he can seduce Imogen.
As the plot unfolds, there are mistaken identities, battles, and betrayals. Ultimately, Cymbeline is a story of love, loyalty, and forgiveness, with a touch of magic and mystery thrown in.
