Synopsis

When They See Us is a limited series that tells the story of the Central Park Five, five young people who were wrongly accused of assaulting and raping a jogger in New York's Central Park in 1989.

The series follows the quintet as they maintain their innocence and fight for years to be exonerated. It spans a quarter of a century, from the teens being questioned about the incident in 1989 to their exoneration in 2002 and the settlement reached with the city of New York in 2014.

The cast includes Emmy nominees and winners such as Michael Kenneth Williams, John Leguizamo, Felicity Huffman, and Blair Underwood. The series was co-written and directed by Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning filmmaker Ava DuVernay.
