Synopsis

Deadly Blessing is set in a backward religious community called "Hitites" living in the Eighteenth Century. The pregnant Martha is happily married to the farmer Jim Schmidt, a former Hitite. Their non-Hitite neighbors, Louisa Stohler and her daughter Faith, despise the religious community led by Jim's father, the austere and fanatic leader Isaiah Schmidt.

One day, Jim sees a mysterious shadow in his barn and dies in a strange accident with his tractor. After his funeral, Martha's friends from LA, Lana Marcus and Vicky Anderson, visit her for a couple of days. When William Gluntz disappears, stabbed by a shadow, his father and Isaiah come to Martha's farm looking for him.

Isaiah offers to buy the farm from Martha, but she refuses and he calls her an incubus. Strange occurrences begin happening in the community, and Martha, her friends, and Isaiah all blame the incubus for the chaos.

Additionally, the musical choices in Deadly Blessing seemed cliché and predictable, relying on generic horror tropes rather than creating a distinct and memorable sound that could elevate the film. The lack of originality in the score detracted from the overall viewing experience, making it difficult to fully immerse myself in the story and characters.
