Synopsis

Dear John is a novel written by Nicholas Sparks that tells the story of a young soldier named John Tyree who falls in love with a college student named Savannah Curtis.

John and Savannah meet while he is on leave from the army and they quickly form a deep connection. However, their relationship is tested when John is deployed overseas.

Despite their love for each other, the distance proves to be too much for their relationship to handle. Savannah eventually sends John a "Dear John" letter, ending their relationship.

Heartbroken, John returns home and tries to move on with his life. He struggles to come to terms with the end of his relationship with Savannah and finds solace in his father and his autistic friend, Tim.

As John tries to rebuild his life, he receives news that Savannah is getting married. He must decide whether to attend her wedding and confront his feelings for her or let her go and move on.

Dear John is a poignant story about love, loss, and the choices we make that shape our lives.
