Synopsis

Delirium is a novel written by Lauren Oliver that takes place in a dystopian society where love is considered a disease. The story follows the protagonist, Lena Haloway, who is eagerly awaiting her 18th birthday when she will undergo a procedure to be "cured" of love. However, everything changes when she meets Alex, a boy who challenges everything she has been taught about love and the society she lives in.

As Lena starts to question the rules and restrictions placed on her by the government, she begins to realize that love may not be the enemy after all. She must make a choice between following the rules and embracing love, risking everything she has ever known in the process.

Delirium explores themes of love, freedom, and rebellion in a world where emotions are suppressed and controlled. The novel is a gripping tale of self-discovery and defiance against a society that seeks to dictate every aspect of its citizens' lives.
