Synopsis

Easy Virtue is a story set between world wars, where the Whittaker's estate is facing bankruptcy. Mrs. Veronica Whittaker, played by Dame Kristin Scott Thomas, is determined to save the estate while waiting for her son John, portrayed by Ben Barnes, to return from the continent.

Upon John's return, he surprises his mother by bringing home a bride named Larita, played by Jessica Biel, who is an American widow with a passion for racing cars. Larita expects to visit briefly and then head to London with John, but Mrs. Whittaker has other plans.

A power struggle ensues between Mrs. Whittaker and Larita, with Mr. Whittaker, played by Colin Firth, caught in the middle. Mrs. Whittaker's plan to merge with a neighboring estate is threatened by Larita's presence, leading to a clash of wills.

As tensions rise, the question arises: Can't we all just get along?
