Synopsis

Elite Squad 2: The Enemy Within follows the story of Lieutenant-Colonel Roberto Nascimento and Captain André Matias after a violent invasion of the High-Security Penitentiary Bangu 1 in Rio de Janeiro. The BOPE, a special forces unit, is accused of executing prisoners during a rebellion.

Matias is transferred to the corrupt Military Police, while Nascimento is exonerated from the BOPE by the Governor. Despite this, Nascimento's popularity leads the Governor to invite him to work with the intelligence area of the Secretary of Security.

Over time, Diogo Fraga, a Human Rights Aids member who is married to Nascimento's ex-wife, becomes a State Representative. Nascimento's son Rafael also faces issues with his father. As Nascimento and the BOPE work to expel drug dealers from slums, a new enemy emerges: the militia led by Major Rocha, supported by the Governor and politicians seeking votes.

Nascimento is manipulated into helping the corrupt group, allowing them to exploit the poor population after eliminating criminals in the slums and poor communities.
