Enron - L'economia della truffa

Synopsis

Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room dives from the seventh largest US company to bankruptcy in less than a year in this tale told chronologically. The emphasis is on human drama, from suicide to 20,000 people sacked: the personalities of Ken Lay (with Falwellesque rectitude), Jeff Skilling (he of big ideas), Lou Pai (gone with $250 M), and Andy Fastow (the dark prince) dominate. Along the way, we watch Enron game California's deregulated electricity market, get a free pass from Arthur Andersen (which okays the dubious mark-to-market accounting), use greed to manipulate banks and brokerages (Merrill Lynch fires the analyst who questions Enron's rise), and hear from both Presidents Bush what great guys these are.

User reviews

Donald Smith
10/10

The music enhances the storytelling by adding depth and emotion to the documentary. It complements the human drama aspect of the film, making the audience feel connected to the personal struggles and greed that led to the downfall of Enron.

Joshua Green
4/10

Overall, the soundtrack fell short of enhancing the storytelling and failed to engage the audience on a deeper level, leaving a disconnect between the music and the powerful themes explored in the documentary.

Donald Jones
1/10

Furthermore, the use of repetitive and dull background music throughout the documentary became distracting and took away from the impact of the narrative. It felt like an afterthought rather than a carefully curated selection of music that could enhance the viewing experience.

Stephanie Robinson
5/10

On the other hand, the soundtrack at times feels repetitive and overbearing, overshadowing the documentary's content. While the music effectively sets the mood for the story, there are moments where it becomes distracting and detracts from the overall viewing experience. A more subtle approach to the soundtrack could have allowed the audience to focus more on the interviews and revelations presented in the film, rather than being overwhelmed by the music.

Donald Hill
10/10

The soundtrack effectively sets the tone for each scene, creating a sense of suspense and intrigue as we witness the manipulation and corruption within the company. The use of music in this documentary is truly impactful and adds another layer of complexity to the narrative.
