The songs chosen for key moments in the film felt cliché and predictable. I found myself rolling my eyes at the generic pop songs that were used, which took away from the authenticity of the characters' struggles and relationships.

The overall musical score of Excess Baggage lacked cohesion and failed to create a cohesive atmosphere throughout the film. It felt like a random collection of songs rather than a carefully curated soundtrack that elevates the viewing experience.
