Synopsis

As the horrifying news of the sexual assault and murder of two innocent girls terrorises a small seaside French town, the cryptic attorney, Jérôme Martinaud, is summoned to the provincial police station to testify.

But, more and more, against the backdrop of New Year's Eve, Inspectors Antoine Gallien and Marcel Belmont find themselves grappling with half-baked leads and circumstantial evidence, even though, deep down inside, they are convinced of the lawyer's guilt.

Now, over the course of a single rainy night, Gallien has to make Martinaud confess; however, in vain. And, hour after hour, Martinaud sticks to his story.

Can Madame Chantal Martinaud shed some light on the conundrum of the double homicide?
