The lack of cultural authenticity in the soundtrack of Farewell to the King was a major drawback for me. The film is set in Borneo and explores the clash of cultures between the tribe and the outside world, but the music failed to represent this cultural richness. It missed the chance to incorporate traditional Bornean musical elements that could have added a unique and immersive layer to the viewing experience.

The soundtrack of Farewell to the King felt disconnected from the emotional depth of the story. The music did not enhance the dramatic moments or capture the complexity of Learoyd's internal struggle between loyalty to his tribe and his duty to the outside world.

I found the musical choices in Farewell to the King to be cliché and uninspired. The use of generic war movie tropes and predictable melodies did not add any originality or depth to the film's narrative. It felt like a missed opportunity to elevate the storytelling through music.

One of the standout aspects of the film's soundtrack is how it seamlessly blends Western orchestral elements with tribal music, reflecting the dual identity of Learoyd as both an American soldier and a king to the tribe of headhunters.
