Freeway is a modern retelling of Little Red Riding Hood set in the 1990s. After her mom and step-dad are arrested, 15-year-old Vanessa Lutz decides to search for the grandmother she's never met instead of going back to a foster home.
On her way to her grandmother's house, which is actually a trailer park, Vanessa's car breaks down. She is picked up by Bob Wolverton, a counselor at a school for troubled boys. Bob gains Vanessa's trust and convinces her to open up about her sexual abuse at the hands of her stepfather.
However, Vanessa soon realizes that Bob is actually "The I-5 Killer" from the news and that he is enjoying her story. She tries to escape from his truck, but the inside door handle has been removed, trapping her inside.
