Glory is a historical war film directed by Edward Zwick, released in 1989. The movie tells the story of the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, one of the first all-black regiments in the Union Army during the American Civil War.
The film follows the regiment's struggles and triumphs as they face discrimination, prejudice, and battle against the Confederacy. Led by Colonel Robert Gould Shaw, played by Matthew Broderick, the soldiers of the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry fight bravely for their freedom and equality.
