Synopsis

Godfather of Harlem is a crime drama television series that follows the true story of infamous crime boss Bumpy Johnson, who returns to Harlem after a decade in prison to find the neighborhood in shambles.

Upon his return, Johnson must navigate the turbulent political and social landscape of the 1960s, as he tries to regain control of his criminal empire and protect his family.

As Johnson battles rival gangs, corrupt politicians, and the Italian mafia, he forms alliances with influential figures such as Malcolm X and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. in order to achieve his goals.

The series explores themes of power, loyalty, and redemption, as Johnson struggles to maintain his grip on Harlem while facing internal and external threats.

With a stellar cast led by Forest Whitaker as Bumpy Johnson, Godfather of Harlem offers a gripping and intense portrayal of one man's quest for power and respect in a volatile and dangerous world.
