Great Arias: La Forza del Destino Soundtrack (1997)

Synopsis

The three stars of La Forza del Destino, Galina Gorchakova, Nikolai Putilin and Gegam Grigorian discuss their role, the music and perform their aria from this historic, first recording in 1997 of the original 1862 version. Originally commissioned by The Imperial Maryiinsky Theatre from the composer Giuseppe Verdi. The sketches in the programs are from the original art by the great Andreas Rolla, courtesy of The Maryiinsky (Kirov) Ballet and Opera Archive Library. The arias are performed with the Kirov Orchestra and conducted by Maestro Valery Gergiev.
