Harrison's Flowers is a story about Pulitzer-winning photojournalist, Harrison Lloyd. His wife and family are struggling to keep him focused on his work while he is in a war zone, and he is considering changing to a less stressful job.
However, Harrison is given one last assignment in war-torn Croatia in 1991, during the height of the fighting. News comes back that he has apparently died in a building collapse, but his wife Sarah, who is also a journalist for Newsweek, refuses to believe he is dead and sets out to find him.
She is aided by fellow photojournalists Eric Kyle and Marc Stevenson, who are determined to navigate the chaotic landscape to reach Vukovar, where Sarah believes Harrison is located.
Meanwhile, Harrison's son Cesar is tending to his father's prized greenhouse, keeping hope and flowers alive while his family searches for Harrison.
