Synopsis

Oliver Stone's fictionalized account of journalist Richard Boyle's year in El Salvador during very turbulent times in 1980-81.

Down and out in San Francisco, Boyle and a colleague Doctor Rock head to El Salvador in his beat up car.

There he manages to reunite with former girlfriend Maria and her younger brother.

Boyle is naturally suspicious of government officials who see the communist guerrillas as a major threat.

As Boyle continues to push local and U.S. Embassy officials for answers he soon becomes a target and must find a way to flee - with Maria - before he too becomes one of the disappeared.

User reviews

Robert Scott
9/10

The music perfectly complements the storyline, enhancing the emotions and tension of each scene. The combination of traditional Latin American instruments with modern sounds creates a unique and captivating auditory experience for the audience.

Margaret Taylor
5/10

The soundtrack of Salvador sets a haunting tone that perfectly captures the uncertainty and tension of the film's setting in war-torn El Salvador. The use of traditional Central American instruments mixed with modern synthesizers creates a unique blend that enhances the sense of danger and political intrigue portrayed on screen.

Margaret Campbell
1/10

Overall, the soundtrack did not effectively convey the sense of urgency and fear experienced by the characters in the midst of political turmoil and violence in El Salvador.

Joseph Lee
3/10

The soundtrack of Salvador felt disconnected from the intense and dramatic storyline, failing to capture the emotional depth of the characters' struggles.

Ronald King
3/10

The music choices seemed generic and uninspired, lacking the necessary gravitas to enhance the tension and danger depicted in the film.

James Phillips
9/10

The soundtrack of Salvador truly captures the intense and turbulent atmosphere of the film. Each track immerses you in the dangerous and suspenseful world of El Salvador in the 1980s.

Melissa Wilson
5/10

On the other hand, some may find the soundtrack of Salvador to be too overwhelming at times, overshadowing the emotional depth of the characters and their relationships. The constant use of intense percussion and dissonant melodies may distract from the human stories unfolding on screen, making it difficult for viewers to fully connect with the narrative on an emotional level.

Melissa Harris
9/10

Overall, the soundtrack of Salvador is a masterpiece that elevates the film to another level, making it a truly unforgettable cinematic experience.
