Synopsis

Heartbreak and loss drive Tu Me Manques. Gabriel - a young Bolivian - falls in love with Sebastian, another young Bolivian he meets in New York. However, unable to bear the weight of the homophobic culture of his native Bolivia and feeling censored, rejected and not loved by his family, Gabriel finds in suicide how to escape that situation.

After this unexpected tragedy, Sebastian and Gabriel's father - Jorge - are launched on a cultural journey and self-knowledge, where each confronts his new reality in a radically different way. Jorge, unable to comprehend his son's secret homosexual lifestyle, travels from Santa Cruz to New York in search of answers and to confront Sebastian, whom he blames for the loss suffered by his family.

The soundtrack of I Miss You showcases a beautiful blend of melancholy melodies and haunting vocals that evoke a sense of sadness and introspection. It complements the visual storytelling perfectly, enhancing the overall viewing experience.

Nancy Young
5/10

On the other hand, some may find the soundtrack of I Miss You to be overly dramatic and manipulative in its attempt to evoke emotions. The heavy use of strings and piano can come across as cliché and predictable, potentially detracting from the authenticity of the characters' experiences. In this sense, the soundtrack may feel forced and artificial, instead of organically complementing the storytelling.

Deborah Green
3/10

The scoring in I Miss You often feels intrusive and overbearing, overshadowing important dialogue and emotional moments, disrupting the viewer's immersion in the film's delicate themes of heartbreak, loss, and self-discovery.

George Anderson
2/10

The music choices in I Miss You seem cliché and generic, lacking originality and failing to enhance the overall atmosphere of the film. It feels like a missed opportunity to elevate the narrative through compelling soundscapes.

Michael Garcia
3/10

The soundtrack of I Miss You fails to capture the emotional depth and complexity of the storyline, leaving the audience feeling disconnected from the characters' struggles and relationships.

Linda Taylor
7/10

The use of traditional Bolivian music elements in the soundtrack adds authenticity and cultural richness to the film. It helps to immerse the audience in the characters' world and provides a unique sonic landscape for the story to unfold.
