JFK is a 1991 American political thriller film directed by Oliver Stone. The film examines the events leading up to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and the conspiracy theories surrounding his death.
The story follows New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison as he investigates the assassination and uncovers evidence that suggests a larger conspiracy involving the CIA, the military-industrial complex, and other powerful forces.
JFK features an ensemble cast including Kevin Costner, Tommy Lee Jones, Joe Pesci, and Gary Oldman. The film received critical acclaim for its performances, direction, and editing, but also faced controversy for its portrayal of historical events.
Despite the controversy, JFK was a box office success and received several Academy Award nominations, winning two for Best Cinematography and Best Film Editing. The film has since become a cult classic and is considered one of Stone's most iconic works.
