Synopsis

Kickboxer is a 1989 American martial arts film directed by Mark DiSalle and David Worth. The film stars Jean-Claude Van Damme as Kurt Sloane, a young kickboxer who seeks revenge against the Thai champion Tong Po who paralyzed his brother during a match.

The story follows Kurt as he travels to Thailand to train with a legendary martial arts master named Xian Chow. Under Xian's guidance, Kurt learns the art of Muay Thai and prepares for a final showdown with Tong Po.

Kickboxer is known for its intense fight scenes and Van Damme's impressive martial arts skills. The film was a commercial success and spawned several sequels, cementing Van Damme's status as a martial arts action star.
