Paradise: Faith tells the story of a lonely wife who has become obsessed with Catholicism. We learn early on that she was originally married to a now-missing Muslim man. As her loneliness grows, so does her religious fervor.
During her vacation time, she walks through different and sometimes dangerous neighborhoods in Austria, aiming to re-convert the country to Catholicism. Carrying her statue of the Virgin Mary and repeating the rosary endlessly, she starts engaging in ritualistic physical punishment like self-flagellation, all in the name of her love for Jesus.
However, beneath her devout facade, there is a repressed sexuality and transference that drives her masochistic behavior. When her Islamic husband unexpectedly returns, her true "Christian" behavior is revealed.
