The setting of the story is a cold hilly village in Kerala, rich with tea plantations. Gopu, a young boy, stays with his aunt Janaki, who is a tea plantation worker and her daughter, Devu. Janaki's co-worker and neighbor Dakshayani is in an open relationship with the supervisor of the plantation. Janaki is looking for a suitable groom for her daughter. However, the supervisor blocks all possible alliances for her as he is interested in Devu. Dakshayani, being a woman with strong physical needs, tries to seduce Gopu, yet he escapes from her grasp. From Dakshayani, he comes to know that, since Devu is his aunt's daughter, there is a possibility of marrying her, even though she is elder than him. Gradually, his mind gets infatuated towards her. Soon he realizes that she is interested in him as well. They finally fall in love. When everything was going good, Janaki catches them while making love. She expels him from her home. Meanwhile, the supervisor finds his own ways to abduct Devu and make her his wife. He is very adamant about marrying her. Gopu finds shelter at Dakshayani's house. Will Gopu reunite with the love of his life? Will he meet his ambition of having Devu on his side?
