Synopsis

"Ku'damm 56" is a German television series that follows the story of three sisters living in Berlin in the 1950s. The sisters, Monika, Helga, and Eva, are struggling to find their place in a society that is still recovering from the aftermath of World War II.

Monika dreams of becoming a dancer, but faces opposition from her conservative mother who wants her to settle down and start a family. Helga is a talented singer who is torn between pursuing her passion and conforming to societal expectations. Eva, the youngest sister, is rebellious and constantly challenges the norms of the time.

As the sisters navigate love, family, and societal pressures, they must confront their own desires and ambitions in a rapidly changing world. "Ku'damm 56" explores themes of identity, gender roles, and the struggle for independence in a post-war society.
