Synopsis

Love, Simon follows the story of Simon Spier, a high school senior who leads what he considers a perfectly normal life.

He has a loving family, parents Emily and Jack Spier, and his younger sister Nora Spier.

Simon has a close group of friends, Leah, Nick, and Abby, with Leah and Nick being friends he's known almost all his life.

Leah just transferred to their school, Creekwood High, this year, but they feel like they've known each other a long time.

However, Simon has a big secret that he's been keeping for a few years: he's gay and in the closet to everyone.

Despite knowing that his parents would be accepting of his sexual orientation, Simon has failed to come out for various reasons.

He discovers that he is not alone when he starts an anonymous correspondence with another classmate calling himself "Blue" who is also struggling with being gay in the closet.

As Simon and Blue provide support to each other, Simon starts to develop feelings for Blue without knowing his true identity.

Simon's efforts to figure out who Blue is lead to him seeing his classmates in a new light.

However, circumstances lead to Simon manipulating his friends' love lives in an effort to maintain his secret.
