Synopsis

Married... with Children is a sitcom that follows the life of Al Bundy, an unsuccessful middle-aged shoe salesman with a miserable life and a dysfunctional family.

He is married to a very attractive but lazy wife named Peggy, who constantly nags him and spends the little money he earns on herself.

Al also has a promiscuous teen-aged daughter named Kelly and a not-so-attractive but bright teen-aged son named Bud.

Al's yuppie next-door neighbors, Marcy and Steve, add to his misery. They eventually split up, with Marcy staying next door and Steve moving away.

Later, Marcy remarries a gigolo named Jefferson, who is similar to Peggy. The sitcom revolves around Al's never-ending attempts to improve his life, which always seem to fail.
