Synopsis

May Day is a short story written by F. Scott Fitzgerald that follows the life of a young woman named Lois. She is a wealthy socialite who is engaged to a man named Joe. However, on May Day, she runs into an old flame named George while out with Joe. George is now a poor war veteran who has fallen on hard times. Lois is torn between her feelings for George and her commitment to Joe. As the day goes on, she becomes increasingly disillusioned with her privileged life and begins to question her choices.
