Synopsis

Demira is an actor in porno-movies and the despondent son of a mother who smothers him with love. To get over his obsession of calling her up after every sexual encounter, Demira goes to a psychiatrist. Given his homosexual tendencies, the inevitable happens with the doctor.

Naturally he calls his mother - Esther, a brassy blond - who arrives in town for a visit. But Esther, who has visions of Hollywood for her son, also has something of a life of her own. In fact, her current romantic reverie makes her oblivious to her son's depression. Her jealous offspring fails to attract her attention by various antics.

Nevermind, his big break has come: he'll be the star she's always wanted him to be. Unfortunately the script written "just for him" is like all the others - sexually and artistically humiliating. Suddenly he's walking off the set, although the cameras are rolling and the director is screaming. Is this a take of Demira cutting the umbilical cord?

User reviews

Linda Evans
8/10

The use of eerie and discordant melodies creates a sense of unease and tension, mirroring Demira's internal struggles and conflicts with his mother.

Jennifer White
3/10

The soundtrack for Mother's Meat & Freud's Flesh fails to capture the emotional depth and complexity of the characters' inner struggles. The music feels generic and uninspired, missing the opportunity to enhance the viewer's understanding of the characters' psychological turmoil.

William Taylor
4/10

The score lacks cohesion and consistency, with jarring shifts in tone that disrupt the flow of the film. Instead of enhancing the narrative, the soundtrack distracts from the story, making it difficult to fully immerse oneself in the film's world.

Linda Clark
8/10

The soundtrack of Mother's Meat & Freud's Flesh is a haunting and emotional journey that perfectly captures the inner turmoil of the characters.

Donald Moore
8/10

The juxtaposition of classical music and electronic soundscapes adds depth and complexity to the film's atmosphere, enhancing the storytelling and emotional impact.

Joseph Jackson
6/10

Sarah Clark
8/10

Overall, the soundtrack of Mother's Meat & Freud's Flesh is a masterful composition that elevates the film to a whole new level, immersing the audience in the characters' psychological drama.

Mark Hill
4/10

The use of repetitive musical motifs throughout the film becomes grating and monotonous, failing to evolve alongside the characters' arcs. The soundtrack feels like an afterthought, rather than a carefully crafted element that adds layers of meaning to the film's themes of familial dysfunction and unfulfilled aspirations.
