Synopsis

Mrs. America is a historical drama television series that tells the story of the movement to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) in the 1970s, and the unexpected backlash led by conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly.

The series follows Schlafly as she mobilizes a grassroots movement to oppose the ERA, which she believes will undermine traditional values and threaten the role of women in society. Meanwhile, feminist leaders like Gloria Steinem, Betty Friedan, and Shirley Chisholm work tirelessly to secure equal rights for women.

As the battle over the ERA intensifies, both sides face personal and political challenges that will shape the future of the women's movement in America.
