"Naz & Maalik" is a coming-of-age drama that follows the lives of two closeted Muslim teenagers living in Brooklyn, New York. Naz and Maalik are best friends who run a small convenience store together, but their relationship is put to the test when they are under surveillance by an FBI agent who suspects them of being radicalized. As they navigate their identities as queer Muslim youth, they must also confront the challenges of being young men of color in a post-9/11 world. The film explores themes of friendship, love, and the complexities of being true to oneself in the face of societal expectations and pressures.
