Synopsis

Not for Publication is a story about Lois Thornedyke, a tabloid reporter with big dreams of turning her sleazy paper into a respectable newspaper. She also works as a political aide to New York City's Mayor Franklyn, who is determined to fight crime, sleaze, and scrupulous journalism.

Impressed by the Mayor's idealism, Lois falls for him and they have a fling. However, her gluttonous editor assigns her a new partner, photographer Barry Denver, who is more interested in birdwatching.

The duo's first assignment is to investigate a high-class sex club hosting an animal-themed costume party. Lois and Barry dress up as a sheep and a bluebird and witness an orgy, only to be interrupted by a gang of costumed robbers.

As they dig deeper, Lois and Barry realize the thieves are after compromising evidence, not money. But Lois' editor is more focused on sensational stories about sex, deformed babies, greed, murder, and incest.

As they uncover more about the Mayor's involvement in the strange events, Lois and Barry find themselves in serious danger. Will they give up on the story or continue to uncover the truth?
