Synopsis

NVA is a film that tells the story of a young man named Michael who joins the National Voluntary Service in East Germany in the 1980s.

Michael is assigned to a remote post near the Czechoslovakian border, where he is tasked with maintaining the border fence. As he carries out his duties, he begins to question the purpose of the fence and the oppressive regime he is serving.

Michael forms a bond with his fellow soldiers, including a rebellious young man named Markus, who challenges the authority of their superiors. Together, they navigate the complexities of life in the NVA and struggle to maintain their sense of morality in a system that seeks to crush their individuality.

NVA is a powerful exploration of loyalty, friendship, and the human spirit in the face of oppression. It is a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by those who dared to question authority and fight for freedom.
