Synopsis
On the Rocks, the debut feature from prolific Los Angeles filmmakers Alex Kavutskiy and Ariel Gardner, is the story of the recovering alcoholic Dallas (Chase Fein) and his still-drinking wife Karen (Nichole Bagby), a young upscale married worker. couple in a tumultuous relationship. After his father's death, Dallas and Karen move into their childhood home, ready to begin the next chapter of their lives. Unfortunately, Dallas' attempts at stability and growth are constantly undermined by Karen's immaturity, the intrusion of her family, and the demands of her work life. Every little setback in their lives seems to suddenly turn into an emergency. Seeking refuge from the madness, Dallas finds himself pursuing the affections of a woman he meets at an AA meeting. On the Rocks is a fast-paced tightrope comedy-drama act with tour de force performances from a gold mine of up-and-coming actors.
