Private is a story about a Palestinian family living outside town, near Israeli settlements. The family consists of five children, with Samia as the wife who wants to leave, along with one of the teenage sons. Mohammad, the patriarch, is determined to stay despite the circumstances. Two of his adolescent children are willing to fight against the occupation.
Despite the tense situation, Mohammad exhibits passive aggression through non-violent means. Israeli soldiers suddenly invade their home, taking control of the second floor and locking the family in the living room at night. The effects of the occupation are evident on the children and the marriage.
Through the perspective of Miriam, the older daughter, we witness the soldiers from her hiding spot. Jamal, the eldest son, even sets a trap with a grenade. Throughout the chaos, characters call upon Allah for guidance as chaos and death loom close.
