Synopsis

Prophet's Prey is a documentary that delves into the rise of Warren Jeffs as the Prophet of the Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints. Upon assuming leadership, Warren Jeffs took control of a religion known for its history of polygamous and underage marriage.

In a remarkably short period of time, Warren managed to expand these controversial practices and consolidate his power in unprecedented ways. He blurred the lines between sister wives and ecclesiastical rape, causing confusion and moral conflict among his followers.

The film explores Warren Jeffs' life and how he transformed into a worshiped and adored Prophet. Despite a devout following numbering in the tens of thousands, many of whom are willing to sacrifice their lives at his command, Warren Jeffs has left a trail of abuse and ruined lives in his wake while maintaining a firm grip on power.
