Synopsis

Inspired by actual events. Red Ryan chronicles the epic rise and fall of the notorious 1930's Canadian bank robber. A prison escape early in his career was made infamous through the writing of a young Ernest Hemingway for the Toronto Star. Ryan later charmed his way into parole from Kingston Penitentiary on the promise of touring the country with the police on behalf of the Prime Minister to promote prison reform - while he robbed banks along the way.
