Synopsis

Return to the 36th Chamber is a martial arts film directed by Lau Kar-leung. The movie follows a young man named Chao who poses as a monk to infiltrate the Shaolin Temple and learn kung fu.

After being exposed as a fraud, Chao is kicked out of the temple. Determined to prove himself, he returns to the temple and convinces the monks to let him train in the 36th Chamber, the most difficult chamber of all.

Chao faces numerous challenges and obstacles as he trains in the 36th Chamber, but he perseveres and eventually becomes a skilled martial artist. He uses his newfound skills to help the workers at his village stand up to a cruel and oppressive boss.
