Synopsis

Tumblin' tumbleweeds: The Wild West goes wacko when the Greatest Fast-Drawin', Fancy-Dressin', Silver-Spurred, Geetar Playin', Singing Cowboy movie matinee idol Rex O'Herlihan (Tom Berenger) hits the saddle in Rustlers' Rhapsody, a cockeyed, affectionate send-up of the '40s B-movie Western.

Classic Western stereotypes and clichés get turned on their ear when our fearless hero, fully dressed in white and atop his dancing horse Wildflower, rides into the tackiest town west of the Pecos to do good deeds and defy desperados.

Written and directed by Hugh Wilson, who was responsible for the hilarious Police Academy (1984), Rustlers' Rhapsody stars Andy Griffith and Marilu Henner.

5/10

The music in Rustlers' Rhapsody complements the exaggerated characters and over-the-top scenarios, enhancing the overall entertainment value of the film with its playful and upbeat melodies.

Robert Thomas
3/10

The musical choices in Rustlers' Rhapsody felt repetitive and unoriginal, relying too heavily on clichéd Western motifs that failed to bring anything new or interesting to the table. The lack of creativity in the soundtrack made the viewing experience feel stale and predictable, detracting from the enjoyment of the film.

Charles Anderson
5/10

I appreciate how the soundtrack of Rustlers' Rhapsody embraces the clichés and stereotypes of the Western genre, using music to poke fun at the conventions while still paying homage to its roots.

The combination of lively guitar playing and singing in the soundtrack of Rustlers' Rhapsody mirrors the charismatic charm of the protagonist Rex O'Herlihan, adding an extra layer of fun and enjoyment to the viewing experience.

Donna Moore
3/10

The soundtrack of Rustlers' Rhapsody felt uninspired and generic, lacking the energy and excitement expected in a Western film. The music failed to enhance the scenes and left me feeling disconnected from the Wild West setting.

Dorothy Brown

The use of classic cowboy tunes like Tumblin' Tumbleweeds adds authenticity to the film's homage to B-movie Westerns, creating a delightful sense of nostalgia for fans of the genre.

George Turner
4/10

The songs in the film seemed out of place and did not contribute to the overall tone or atmosphere of the movie. Instead of immersing me in the world of cowboys and outlaws, the music pulled me out of the story, making it hard to fully engage with the characters and plot.

The soundtrack of Rustlers' Rhapsody perfectly captures the whimsical and nostalgic spirit of the film, blending traditional Western elements with a comedic twist.
