Synopsis

Samba is a 2014 French comedy-drama film directed by Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano. The film follows the story of Samba Cissé, a Senegalese immigrant living in Paris who is working as a dishwasher in a fancy restaurant.

Samba is struggling to obtain legal residency in France and is constantly living in fear of being deported. He meets Alice, a burnt-out corporate executive who is on sick leave and volunteering at an immigration support center.

Samba and Alice form an unlikely bond as they navigate the complexities of the French immigration system and try to find a way for Samba to stay in the country. The film explores themes of immigration, identity, and human connection.
