Scents and Sensibility tells the story of Elinor (Ashley Williams) and Marianne (Marla Sokoloff) Dashwood, who live a charmed life where they get everything they desire without having to work. However, their lives take a drastic turn when their father is indicted by the FBI for swindling millions.
Now, with their family fortune gone and their reputation in ruins, the Dashwood girls must navigate life, work, and love on their own. Finding good, well-paying jobs proves to be a challenge, as does finding the right men to love.
Elinor falls for Edward Farris (Brad Johnson), who she suspects of stealing, while Marianne falls for John Willoughby (Jason Celaya) and Brandon (Nick Zano), who do not reciprocate her feelings.
As the girls try to market Marianne's homemade lotion, they discover a potential opportunity to turn their lives around. Will they be able to find their happy ending in work and love?
This modern adaptation of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility explores themes of resilience, love, and self-discovery in the face of adversity.
