Synopsis

Stoker tells the story of India Stoker (Mia Wasikowska), who is devastated by the loss of her father and best friend Richard (Dermot Mulroney) in a tragic auto accident.

The solitude of her woodsy family estate, the peace of her tranquil town, and the unspoken somberness of her home life are suddenly disrupted by this mysterious accident.

Things take a strange turn with the unexpected arrival of her Uncle Charlie (Matthew Goode), a man she never knew existed.

As Charlie moves in with India and her emotionally unstable mother Evie (Nicole Kidman), India believes that the void left by her father's death is being filled by his closest bloodline.

However, India soon begins to suspect that Charlie may have ulterior motives, despite his mysterious charm.

Instead of feeling outrage or horror, India finds herself becoming increasingly infatuated with this enigmatic man.
